Creating beautiful goodbyeswith kindness, authenticity and understanding.
Planning a funeral is such a difficult time for anyone, and often one that we aren’t prepared for. That’s why you really want to be working with someone who is kind, calm and organised; someone who is sympathetic to your loss, and someone who is able to offer gentle guidance at a time when decisions can be difficult to make.
As a funeral celebrant I bring my compassion, my understanding, and my own life experience to the table, and I will assist you, as much or as little as you need, to create a a beautiful goodbye that truly reflects the life and the essence of the person who has died.
The funeral ceremony is an important part of the grieving, and ultimately, the healing process. My professional and personal experience, in the world of death and dying over the last ten years, has taught me that the more empowered somebody feels to farewell a loved one in a way that feels right for them, the more authentic the goodbye, and in turn, the healthier their bereavement can be.
From the moment I became a celebrant I have been dedicated to improving the process by which we farewell our loved ones. I will work closely with you to get to know as much as I can about the person who has died and I will provide you with options and choices to assist you to have the farewell that feels right for you.
We can never fill the gap that is left when we lose someone we love, but we can farewell them and celebrate their life in a way that is meaningful, authentic and heartfelt. Knowing that you have no regrets around what their funeral looked like, can make the journey of healing just that little bit easier.
“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief …. and unspeakable love.”
– Washington Irving

Kind words from my families …
“Dear Kath, thank you for helping make the most difficult day of my life into one of the most memorable. I could not have asked for a better supporting soul than the one I have with you. Fred would have felt comfort had he known you’re with him today. Hey, what’s to say he “does know” and is raising a glass for a job well done.”

“When my father passed away suddenly and we found ourselves having to plan his Memorial. The combined loss of my father and no experience with the practicalities of arranging a funeral was initially very daunting. We were so fortunate to have found Kath to guide us through the process.
Kath was so nurturing and kind to our family. Kath was the perfect fit for our family. During our face to face consultation, Kath put us at ease & we immediately felt comfortable discussing my Fathers memories with Kath. The experience and attention to detail Kath brings provided a clear path for us.
Kath was patient and I never felt rushed once. Kath gently guided us through the details, and we knew exactly what to expect on the day of the Memorial. The memorial service was one worthy of my father, thanks to Kath’s ability in capturing what our family wanted for him on the day.
Kath has a warm, calm and genuine presence and we couldn’t have gotten through the memorial without her. We cannot recommend Kath highly enough.”

“Dear Kath, thank you isn’t enough for what you have done for us and for Sophie.
Our heart is full with the thought of you helping her to her final resting place.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we couldn’t have done this without you.”

“Kath was recommended to us by Guardian Funerals in Ballina. My brothers and I flew from Melbourne to plan our mother’s funeral. We had three days to get all the major elements together, before flying back the following week for the funeral.
From our first meeting with Kath, I felt her warmth, understanding and compassion . Our mother died very tragically and suddenly. Kath listened to our stories of mum, her love of gardening and the environment and all that was important to her. After our meeting I felt we had the right person who would honour our mother in the way she would have wanted. Kath was great in her communication, advice on the order of service, and understood the general feeling that we wanted for Mum. Our mother was not religious, Kath’s style and knowledge enabled us to give her an appropriate send off.
Kath spent time crafting our mother’s story from our words and this seemed to flow without too much effort with Kath, despite how stressed we felt. We also put our eulogy together from us. With our mum’s death and tragedy, Kath also recommended not hiding this but talking about it in the service , she was able to convey this in a way where it wasn’t the total focus but it was acknowledged. We were grateful for her wisdom and skill in delivery of this in the service.
Kath was wonderful, calm, has a gentle manner, is a great listener and I would not hesitate to use her or recommend her to anyone requiring a celebrant for a funeral service.”
